Public Philosophy

I am very interested in a more public-facing philosophical approach that makes philosophy accessible to those outside the professional discipline. Here is some of what I’ve undertaken in service of that idea…

  • Between You and Me (substack)

    • reflections on philosophy, philosophers, and their audience - especially relating to the ways personal elements shine through philosophical work and make deep communication possible.

  • Presentations to public/non-specialized audiences

    • Capitol Hill Middle School - 8th grade class introducing them to philosophical topics

    • Women’s Retreat in Albert Lea, MN - presentation on habits and habituation based on embodied research on memory and skill, along with upshots on how to retrain/rehabituate oneself.
